Why Life Coaching

This is such an important question. Life coaching has recently become better known around the world, but many people still don’t know exactly what it means.

I believe all of us have benefitted from informal life coaching at some point in our lives, whether it was from our parents, grandparents, a trusted friend, or even someone we didn’t know very well. Most of the time, we didn’t realize we were receiving “life coaching” as we call it today, but when we reflect on our lives, we can recognize the impact it had on us and our future.

Formal life coaching is similar yet different, in the sense that it is done with clear purpose and direction and is conducted by an experienced life coach who knows how to guide and support you. In other words, Life Coaching is a dynamic and collaborative process that empowers you to achieve your goals. A life coach knows how to ask you insightful questions that unlock self-reflection, knows how to constructively challenge your thinking process, sometimes pointing out the obvious reflection that you may have avoided for a long time, bringing into perspective things that are at the periphery of your awareness and helping you gain clarity. All this is done with the purpose of helping you recognise your potential and take actionable steps towards personal growth and achieving your goals. The ultimate goal is to help you live a better and happier life, aligned with your core values and potential.

Unlike therapy, which often focuses on healing past wounds and trauma, life coaching is future-oriented and solution-focused. It’s about exploring where you are now, where you want to be, and how to bridge that gap with guidance, support, and accountability.

So, is life coaching the right path for you? The truth is, you won’t know until you try—but taking that first step could be the beginning of a transformative journey.
